dinner was great and then in the middle we were talking about the new indiana jones movie which omg, you guys.  you guys.  harrison ford.  he was my first true love when i was 13.  i fell in love watching him swashbuckle his way across the globe and have pretty much tended a small flame for him ever since (which almost excuses some of the horrid movies he's made).  so midway through dinner i got so excited to see the new movie that i said we have to rent raiders tonight!!!  so we did and it was awesome.  awesome.  awesome.  and now i'm totally pumped up to see the kingdom of the crystal skull. 

also i'm happy to say that i've dipped my toe in the beta reader pool again.  i loved beta reading back in the buffy days.  i'm not a fic writer but i'm a damn good editor and i love helping people make their already good work even better.  love it!  so i found chinesebakery in the himym_fic world (she wrote this kickass brotp called some serious comforting) and la la la i'm beta reading for an fnl fic she's been working on called transitory.  and it's great!  if you're a reader in the fandom, do go check it out.  bonus to all this is a nearly finished fic!!  the final chapter should be posted in a day or so, i'd imagine.  it's just been super fun working with her.  she's absolutely lovely and a terrific writer.

*can you believe it?  i made a post that had almost no references to himym.  almost.

so excited that one of my new favorite authors in the bones fandom just finished a really good read called "unwell".  yummy booth taking care of poor sick brennan and risking all at the same time.  ooh, it's just delicious and might make you want to eat chocolate chip pancakes to boot.
lerdo is so good!  she has brennan down to a science (!) and her ust is fraught with, well, ust!  i love her guts!  go and read and love her too!

if you read doctor who fic and if you don't, why don't you?  (cause it's an amazing fandom with lovelylovely writers in it)  you must absolutely read lordshiva's (also known in these here parts as kalima) psycho savior, qu'est-ce c'est posted over at a teaspoon and an open mind.  her ninth doctor is just a whirlygig of wonderfulness and it takes place in portland!  so much the better.  oh i'm filled with love and awe at the moment.  woooohooooo.......

oh be still my sad, little heart that i have to wait until i don't know when to see series 4 of the doctor.  but happy is the viewer who finds "life on mars".  marvelous!  man, where would we be without the bbc?  they produce such great stuff.  anybody have any other program rec's for me?  and can anyone point me in the direction of good doctor who fic?  i think i need sustenence until series 4 shows its pretty face.  also i'm wondering if anyone knows the best who reference site.  is there anything like gateworld for whoville?  i know i'm miles behind but i can catch up, honest!

horrible day.  i had to write two behavioral referrals in a row for disrespectful students, one of whom called me fucking stupid and then lied right to my face in front of our acting vp and said she'd called the class fucking stupid.  because if she actually swore at a teacher she'd have been suspended for a day.  and she knew it.  so after we processed and she didn't apologize, she left the room and i burst into tears.  i think i can count on one hand the number of times in six years a kid has made me cry, and once was the week i came back to work after my mother had died!  so all in all a wretched morning. 

however i have the weekend to recover.  thank god.  and possibly a sick nephew to cuddle.  and a damn broken cell phone to argue with sprint about.  although after reading this article about how they're discovering the dangers of cell phone usage, i'm not so sure i want to own one anymore.  except for the damn 2 year contract....which of course is far more important than my current lack of fucking brain cancer!

oh and right now i am become a puddle of goo on the floor in front of my tv because fucking capt. jack harkness and the fucking doctor who are dancing with rose.  holy shite.  see how little i need?  it's like crack.  just one teeny fix and i'm all right.  and tomorrow 2 more discs are coming in the mail.  woohoo!  oh and i'm downloading 2 eps of supernatural and tomorrow sga!   double woohoo!   and i'm also reading a most terrific sg1 au sam/jack fic by annerbhp called string theory.  it's being recced all over the web and it's worth it.  thank god for fandom.  it only makes me cry sometimes....
